I've eaten at the Pottsville location twice now. Crabcake sandwich was good. A little filler but good. Fries are great pub fries. I ordered a shrimp salad and the shrimp were grilled just right but the salad was just pure iceberg lettuce, a little onion and tomato. The salad was really bad. I ate the tomatoes and shrimp and that's it. A good salad should be better than cheap iceberg lettuce. But the waitress we had both times was very good. Good bar food but not so great if you're looking for a quality meal.

I loved the wings the first time I had them. They offer a variety of flavors along with the traditional buffalo style wings which is always a plus in my book. The wings were crispy on the outside and juicy, but well cooked, on the inside. They were awesome! But the second time I had them they weren't crispy. They had a soft skin and were not done enough on the inside. Like they were microwaved or something. The third time I had them they were awesome again, just like the first time. Then the 4th and most recent time I had them they were not so good again. I'm not sure why but their wing quality seems to fluctuate. To get 4 stars or higher they gotta figure out a way to deliver the same awesome wings every time. I would definitely give these wings another day in court.

Most historical dining experience there is!! Fresh made to order food!! Home-made is an understatement, all dressings including blue cheese and ranch homemade, Alfredo, Marinara, home-made, you wont get no frozen stuff here!

Absolutely love this place! Very nice ambiance and exceptional food. Make a reservation though because this place gets packed quick. Will definitely be back!

Okay had my Guinness Chicken it was real good. Two tender great filets that were covered in a dark gravy with mushrooms and onions. Fresh Cut Fries were tasty and crispy but not over done, the Zucchini & Squash was done to perfection it still had that firm crunch to it and the seasoning they used complimented the whole meal well. The wife had the Cream of Crab soup, this was a downer for them the soup came out warm but I've seen loose wall plaster. She sent it back for a rewarm but even though it was hotter it still kept most of its consistency. She also had a Margarita on the rocks and I had a Yuengling Guinness mix which was interesting but I later switched for a straight Guinness. The beer was real cold here. The wait staff was very pleasant but the time from order to table is a little slow been here once before and had wings it was more crowded then but they were slow then to so really no improvement. 4 stars on this one. A unique atmosphere if you not a Skook. They do have some good meals and some Irish Fare. So if your up in St. Clair and looking for a casual relaxed atmosphere place to eat I believe the Wooden Keg will fit your needs. Enjoy. Slainte.

sat in behind the bar. Waitress/bartender was great and very helpful. Yuengling on special including the Lord Chesterfield Ale (newly found by my companion at the Yuengling Brewery Tour). We started with the crab bisque - very delicious. My companion had the Irish Steak Sandwich which said was better than any cheesesteak in Philly. I had the shepherd's pie, which was made with beef. Excellent, the potatoes were as creamy as you could get. There's a historic tunnel in the basement you can visit (the floor was a bit slippery). Great place. I'll be back soon!

3 Stars is simply too low for this place. My rating is more of a 4.5 star rating, but I'll bump it to 5 to help boost the overall rating. Didn't know this place existed until very recently, which is a shame because I've had family ties to St. Clair for 30 years. It's a little hard to find, even using GPS, but that's what I get for being an out-of-towner. Beer was cold. The music was great (mainly Irish/Country/Classic Rock while I was there). We ordered the Keg wings and the Buffalo Bleu wings. I couldn't really tell the difference other than the Bleu Cheese crumbles, but they were both delicious. Girlfriend got the California Burger and ate it all. Her fries were great (I sampled these). I ordered the Crab Melt. Being from Maryland, I am a crab snob. I gotta say, I was extremely impressed with this sandwich. Very little filler. 12 Wings, 4 beers (including Mad Elf), and two entrees/sandwiches for under 50 bucks. Being from the DC/MD area, that price is more than welcome for the wallet. Overall, great comfort food, great price, cozy atmosphere. Will be back again.

We stopped in here for dinner on a weekend away. We were very pleased with the atmosphere, food, and staff. Be sure to check out the basement while you are waiting for your food!

If you like to wait for hours to eat, this is the place to come. Seating is entirely to close together and I just did not enjoy the food or experience.

Where does one start. We walked in and weren't greeted, the staff was busy talking. We proceeded downstairs. I ordered a Strawberry Margarita. Big mistake and waste of money. No real flavor or liquor. My baked potatoe wasn't even cooked. I probably could have knocked someone out with it. I wasn't even going to say something but a member of my family did. The waitress basically said nothing other then we'll if the drink wasn't half gone. Which there was more then half. More like the whole thing. You could clearly see that and that the potatoe was not cooked. Paid the bill but will never return and don't recommend anyone else go.

I was there 2 years ago and will never go back. I waited 90 minutes and still no food. It was NOT a busy night. I told the waitress to forget the order that I had waited long enough. The owner came out and told me I HAD to pay since I had ordered and threatened to call the cops. Miracle of miracles the food arrived at that time and it was cold. He reheated the food. I paid and then threw out the food because i was afraid that he spit in it. STAY AWAY..!

The Wooden Keg offers above average bar food with an Irish flare. Decent food and atmosphere. Friendly service and good drinks. Both times I have been there I got the boneless wings- the sweet and spicy are okay, the keg sauce is good but definitely is mild and could use a kick. Everything on the menu is heavy so do not go there looking for a healthy option-just your typical heavy bar food that can soak up the alcohol.

Keeping in mind that the Wooden Keg Tavern is in Saint Clair, Pennsylvania - where amazing meals are few and far between - I'm going to say that my experience was "ok". No complaints, just about what I expected. Decent wings - hot wasn't nearly hot enough, though. Lots of heavy appetizers and dishes that will leave your stomach aching in the best of ways.

Great food and friendly service. The wings are delicious and they have many many flavors. No Guinness, but they do have Murphy's Stout on tap. The loaded Irishman fries are also very tasty. I usually bring visitors here and everyone raves about the wings, especially the Keg and Keg Garlic.

One of the nicer bar experiences in the area, the Wooden Keg also has a great variety of wing flavors. Their other fare is OK as well. Try to reserve a spot well ahead of time or order in advance, because it can take you well over an hour to receive your food on a busy night.

I wanted to try something different so I went on yelp and found the Wooden Keg Tavern in Saint Claire, PA. I've been in several Irish pub taverns before and this one did not disappoint. I was greeted with a smile and The sound of Irish music playing in the background. I enjoyed a Chesterfield Ale with Fish and Chips. The food serving sizes were large and fresh. As I was eating the Irish background music faded and the live music started. The environment was very pleasant, the service and my experience was great. I would highly recommend this restaurant to be included on your trip to St. Clair PA. Enjoy the tavern and a nice walk around town.
